Katie Price has reportedly gone into "self-destruct" mode after ending her marriage to fourth husband Lee Andrews last week, with family and friends said to be deeply concerned about her behaviour.
The 48-year-old former glamour model reportedly dumped Lee, 43, by WhatsApp, and has since been "partying away her pain", according to a source speaking exclusively to the Mirror.
Partying and vaping
"Katie's family is very, very concerned that the wheels are coming off, that she's going to go into a dark place again," the source said. "She's out partying until all hours and vaping."
On the Friday before the recent bank holiday weekend, Katie was in party mode when she sang at a Manchester Pride event, where she vaped on stage. She then jetted off to Marbella, where she was pictured celebrating Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry's 31st birthday weekend – a day before she allegedly dumped Lee, telling him: "I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?"
Crypto wallet discovery
According to reports, Katie finally saw the light after she accessed Lee's crypto wallet and, instead of finding the $50million (£37m) he claimed was in there, discovered it contained just £2.22.
When Katie first arrived in Marbella, she was still sporting her wedding ring and showed off her "owned by Lee" tattoo when she posed for a pic with birthday girl Chloe. But by Saturday evening, her ring was nowhere to be seen as she was pictured letting her hair down during a raucous party. At one point, she was snapped grinding against her friend, club concierge Ryan Mira, as they danced to Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado featuring Timbaland.
Family fears
While she may seem carefree after kicking Lee into touch, we're told that, deep down, Katie is bitterly disappointed that yet another marriage has failed. "It's the worst possible outcome for Katie," the insider continued. "She hoped her fourth marriage would be her last and Lee was The One, but she's been proved wrong. She knows Lee is no good and has hurt other women, but she can't deal with it and the pressure is building. Judging by past relationships, she knows Lee can be very vindictive and it could all get very messy indeed."
While Katie distracts herself by frolicking with friends, it's a different story for her loved ones who, yet again, fear even more drama may lie ahead. "Family and friends are worried about her, particularly as they know what he [Lee] can be like," we're told. "They're so relieved he's out of the picture, but there's a sense of 'what's next?' They're worried about the potential damage he could do."
Previous controversies
Lee, who is still thought to be holed up in the Al Awir prison in Dubai, previously sent shockwaves through Katie's family when he claimed back in July that he had a sex tape of the star and was trying to sell it. Although Katie denied such a tape existed and claimed Lee was "joking", it sparked concerns about what he is capable of. Shortly after, Katie described the whole situation as "overwhelming", telling her sister Sophie during an episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show: "I don't know what's going through his head."
Back in January, Katie stunned friends and family when she announced she'd wed self-styled businessman Lee, just days after meeting him. Shortly after, his ex, Alana Percival, and a former business associate, Crystal Janke, publicly warned her off him, claiming he had conned them. It was then revealed his LinkedIn contained claims that he had a PhD from Cambridge University, worked as a Labour Party advisor and was Director of Philanthropy at The King's Trust. In May, he claimed he had been kidnapped, but it was later revealed he had been jailed over alleged unpaid debts.
Possible documentary and more surgery
However, as ever with Katie, it seems the dark clouds of the past eight months could have a silver lining. Last week, reports were already circulating that her marriage saga would provide ideal fodder for another TV documentary, following the success of her Sky docuseries, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide.
While that could provide focus in the weeks ahead, her family fear Katie could still spiral as she comes to terms with her failed relationship. "They are worried she's going down the wrong track again – towards self-destruction," our source shared. "They want her to get help, as it's a road she promised she wouldn't go down again. But they're losing patience. They're all saying, 'We can't go through this again.' So her whole family and her friends are very concerned about her right now."
While you might think Katie already had enough on her plate, our source said she is now considering more surgery and is set to go under the knife again. "She wants to book more surgery, as she thinks her nose is wonky," they said. "Her family are concerned she could be putting herself at risk."
One thing Katie – who got engaged to Lee shortly after splitting from her ex-boyfriend, MAFS UK star JJ Slater – certainly isn't prioritising right now is finding love again. "She's not even thinking of a new romance," they added. "Whatever anyone thinks, she's still in love with Lee."
