Katie Price Calls Peter Andre Romance 'Best Time of My Life' in New Sky Doc
Katie Price: Peter Andre Was 'Best Time of My Life'

Katie Price has opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Peter Andre in a new Sky TV documentary series, describing their time together as the best of her life. The 48-year-old former glamour model reflects on her three decades in the spotlight in the four-part series Katie Price: Nothing to Hide.

Jungle Romance Revisited

In the documentary, director Paddy Wivell shows Price an iPad with footage of her meeting Andre in the Australian jungle on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2004. Watching the clips, Price says: 'If I like someone like I liked him, I go all shy. I can't look at them, and I go all like giddy. It's pathetic, but that's what I was like. You could see we were into each other and it is so cute to look at.'

Her brother Daniel, who watched the show from home, recalls: 'I know when Kate is knee deep, because she just has this glaze across her eyes. It's like a puppy in a shop window waiting to be picked up. A never-ending glare into space because she's so mesmerized and smitten. And she had that with Pete.'

'Best Times of My Life'

Price then states: 'By the end of it I was smitten with him. Meeting Pete and being with Pete were the best times of my life, without a doubt.' She adds emotionally: 'I had my prince, I knew I would be with him forever.'

The couple left the jungle together and embarked on a whirlwind romance. They married in 2005 and had two children, Junior and Princess, as well as starring in their own ITV reality show. However, they separated in 2009, leading to a lengthy public feud. Price describes the split as 'spiralling out of control'.

Mother's Doubts Revealed

The documentary unexpectedly reveals that Price's mother, Amy, had reservations about Andre from the start. Amy, who travelled to Australia to welcome Price out of the jungle, recalls: 'I knew when she'd come out, she'd be all dolally over him. "I want to be with him all the time. I want to marry him. Oh, Pete, Pete, Pete, Pete." Yeah, she was just totally besotted, and so I knew it was going to be a bit of a long ride. No, I used to think "oh my god".' Price adds: 'My mum was suspicious from the start.'

Documentary Details

The second episode features these revelations, with episodes three and four—not yet available for press preview—expected to delve into the break-up. The full series launches on July 8 on Sky and streaming service NOW, allowing viewers to binge all four episodes at once. Price unveiled the programme at the Sheffield Documentary Festival last month.

Speaking at the festival, Price said: 'I am so proud, you know. I've got beautiful kids. I've still got an amazing family. There's not that many friends left for me, because I've learned that some of the friends are people I've needed to get rid of. But I am definitely the best version I've ever been of myself. It's like I've been in a washing machine and come out the other side with the experience and the knowledge, and I am at peace with myself. I feel like I'm starting my career again, and this is the start of my new career.'

Future Marriages Hinted

Despite currently being married to Lee Andrews, Price hinted she might marry again, joking: 'What am I going to be like in 20 years? I should certainly look different, my face will be up here. How many more marriages? I don't know.'

Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, a Sky Original series, premieres on July 8 on Sky and NOW.
