Linda Robson has revealed that Katie Price's terminally ill mother, Amy, is hoping to find a lung donor. The revelation came during Monday's episode of Loose Women, where the panel discussed Katie's withdrawal from the London Marathon due to a knee injury.
Robson, 60, said the Loose Women team were proud of Katie's efforts, despite her not completing the 26.2-mile race. She noted that Amy is 'doing alright' and keeping fit with yoga, but is in need of a lung transplant due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable lung condition diagnosed last September.
Katie, 39, pulled out of the marathon after three hours, dressed in a giant lung costume to raise awareness for the British Lung Foundation. She faced criticism on social media, with some questioning her preparation and fundraising total, but her mother defended her, saying she had raised significant awareness.
Anne Diamond suggested the controversy might generate more publicity for the cause, while Jane Moore criticised those who 'sit at home and criticise' without understanding the difficulty of the event. Katie herself dismissed claims of lack of preparation, stating on Instagram that she trained hard and that her mother's pride was what mattered.
