Katie Price's friends are said to be "over the moon" following her split from husband Lee Andrews. The former glamour model, 48, married the Dubai businessman in January, just two weeks after meeting.
Since then, several of his exes have accused him of being a conman rather than the millionaire he claimed to be. Insiders have said that even Katie's inner circle had issued her with several warnings before it was reported that they had split.
Friends' relief after warnings
A source said: "Katie's friends are absolutely over the moon that she's decided to divorce Lee. They all gave her as many warnings as they could, but she just wouldn't listen."
Speaking to The Sun, the source added: "Now they're relieved it's finally come to an end." According to the outlet, there are already concerns that Katie could be tempted to reunite with Lee because she has done so in the past with previous relationships despite promising she would never go back.
Insiders have also said that Katie "doesn't like" being single, yet every man she meets seems to bring "more drama" into her life.
Concerns about reconciliation
They added: "Their only hope is that she won't go back again and that she'll take a real break for herself. When she split from JJ, she promised herself she would, but she didn't."
It was first reported on Tuesday that Katie and Lee had called it quits. It's thought that she told a friend: "I have come to my senses - Lee has lied and lied and lied. I am sick of it. It is over." A source added that she would no longer be jetting to Dubai to see him.
The mum-of-five has yet to address the split claims publicly, but recently shared a video of herself marching down a corridor on Instagram, writing: "Walking to my new adventures."
Lee's jail and past accusations
The I'm A Celeb star, once so in love she had the words "owned by Lee" inked on her body, has not mentioned him on social media for weeks. The status of their relationship had been unclear in recent weeks, though Katie was seen wearing her wedding ring during an appearance at Manchester Pride.
Lee is currently thought to be in the Al Awir jail in Dubai, where he returned in July, having only been released the month before. In recent days, split rumours have swirled after a considerable amount of time went by without Katie posting about him online. Since their relationship began, they had posted details of their romance to social media almost daily, but had almost totally stopped.
Their first television interview as a couple was meant to take place on Good Morning Britain in May, but Lee couldn't board his flight, and what followed was a bizarre series of twists and turns concerning his whereabouts. Eventually, Katie shared that he had been found and was actually in prison.
Lee maintains that he was initially accused of espionage, before later admitting he had a civil case in Dubai. Reports indicated he was trying to raise £120,000 to pay off a fine. During his time in the public eye, several exes have come forward accusing Lee, who has claimed to be a millionaire, of being a conman.
Katie had said many times that she deeply loved Lee. On her own podcast, she said he "completes" her "in every f***ed up way". The Mirror has contacted Katie Price's representatives for comment.
