Katie Holmes was radiant at the grand opening of Printemps in New York City on Thursday night, just weeks after her daughter Suri Cruise returned to Carnegie Mellon University for her freshman year. The Dawson's Creek star wore a brown long-sleeved dress with an abstract spot pattern, high neckline, oversized sleeves with fitted cuffs, and a skirt falling below the knee. She paired it with sheer brown tights, strappy open-toed brown sandals with a kitten heel, a peach handbag, and loose waves in her hair, with neutral makeup and a nude lip.
The event, celebrating the French department store's expansion into the Big Apple, also featured Noah Cyrus, Ivy Getty, and Parker Posey. Printemps America CEO Laura Lendrum described the store as flexible, designed to convert areas into brand pop-ups, cooking classes, book readings, and other community-focused activities.
Holmes recently returned from Paris Fashion Week, where she attended the Zimmerman show in a butter-yellow ensemble. Her daughter Suri supported her at her final performance of Our Town on Broadway in January. Holmes told Town and Country before Suri's college move, 'I'm proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy.' She added, 'I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It's exciting to learn about yourself.'
Holmes is set to appear in the second season of Poker Face, alongside Natasha Lyonne, Giancarlo Esposito, Cynthia Erivo, and Kumail Nanjiani. The series follows Lyonne's character, a casino waitress who can detect lies. Holmes described her role as Greta, a woman married to a funeral home owner who seeks a bigger life and befriends Lyonne's character Charlie. 'Oh, I am so excited for Poker Face,' she told Elle. 'I loved working with Natasha. I think she's the best.' The second season is expected to release in May.
