Canadian comedian Katherine Ryan has opened up about her daily dietary habits, revealing exactly what she consumes to maintain her health and energy while caring for her four young children. The 42-year-old star, who shares her children with husband Bobby Kootstra, welcomed her youngest daughter Holland in October 2025 and has since returned to her slim physique.
Daily Eating Routine While Breastfeeding
Katherine explained that breastfeeding has left her constantly hungry, leading her to eat substantial meals even at breakfast time. She often chooses foods typically considered dinner options for her morning meal.
Breakfast: "For example, today I had a spicy Korean chicken with rice and a buttery crumpet, followed by berries, yogurt and granola," Katherine shared.
Lunch and Dinner Habits
When it comes to lunch, Katherine told Closer magazine she either skips the midday meal entirely or opts for something simple like an apple with cheese. Dinner in the Ryan household is typically a family affair with everyone enjoying the same dish, usually prepared by husband Bobby.
Common dinner options include cod fillets with mashed potatoes or a homemade chicken pie. "In the evening I might snack on popcorn with a glass of wine," she added, noting that she generally avoids bread because she doesn't enjoy it.
Takeaway Preferences and Food Avoidances
Katherine's go-to takeaway is Indian cuisine, where she typically orders paneer or a very spicy curry paired with mushroom rice or lemon rice. The comedian has been transparent about her food preferences while balancing the demands of motherhood and her career.
Post-Baby Transformation and Cosmetic Procedure
Katherine recently underwent a £16,000 facelift procedure just eight weeks after giving birth to her fourth child. The invasive surgery included a full facelift with fat transfer to her cheekbone area and a small blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).
On her podcast Telling Everybody Everything, Katherine explained: "The surgery was a facelift. Yes, a full facelift - a little bit of fat transfer to my cheekbone area, and a small bleph[aroplasty]. A bleph is when they take a tiny bit of your eyelid skin, though not too much, and then they'll usually - to avoid hollowness, put a little bit of fat back in there too."
Emotional Significance of the Procedure
Katherine revealed the surgery held emotional significance after being pregnant six times in five years, including three miscarriages alongside the births of her children. "Almost metaphorically I needed to do something, to reclaim my identity, to reclaim my autonomy, to claw back the face that I had in, like, 2019," she explained.
The comedian is already mother to Violet, 16, Fred, 4, and Fenna, 2, in addition to newborn Holland. Recent photographs show Katherine looking sensational in a plunging lace bodysuit, demonstrating her post-baby transformation and renewed confidence following her cosmetic procedure.
