Kate Garraway made a candid confession about her love life during Friday's episode of Good Morning Britain, revealing she has had two weddings with two different people. The admission left co-star Adil Ray visibly surprised.
Discussion on Celebrity Weddings
The conversation arose as Kate welcomed entertainment reporter Rishi Davda, Bobby Seagull, and Saira Khan to the show. Together, they discussed celebrity weddings and whether couples should celebrate their big day more than once.
When the topic turned to the number of weddings people should have, Kate revealed: "I've had two weddings but by two different people." Adil jokingly thanked her for "the clarity," prompting Kate to laugh and say, "I can't believe I just said that out loud on television," before adding that it was "the truth."
Reflections on Past Marriages
Kate also reflected on her wedding celebrations with late husband Derek Draper, explaining they had one in London and another in Chorley because "his dad was one of 12, and it just got bigger and bigger and bigger."
Kate's relationship history includes her first marriage to television producer Ian Rumsey, which began in 1998 and ended in divorce in 2002. She then married political adviser Derek in 2005. The couple shared two children, Darcey and Billy.
Kate documented the challenges her family faced during Derek's long illness after he contracted Covid-19, before he sadly died in January 2024. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
