Kate Dwyer marks one year since Jeff Brazier split with beach post
Kate Dwyer addresses Jeff Brazier split one year on

Kate Dwyer has addressed her split with Jeff Brazier for the first time, a year on from the moment their marriage crumbled. The pair called it a day last year after a stressful and high-pressured few months took its toll. It was reported that they grew further apart last summer after difficulties and issues with new dad Freddy Brazier, Jeff's youngest son from his relationship with Jade Goody.

A year on from the split

PR expert Kate moved out of their marital home last August and she is said to have returned to her apartment in Hackney. It was claimed she had decided to return to the dating scene in the New Year, but neither are understood to be in relationships as the dust settles on their 12 years together.

Freddy hardly helped matters when he listed things he “hates”, which included: “Step parents” before going on to tell his followers “I don’t know how to love because I’ve never been loved.”

Jeff's statement and Kate's post

Despite his attack, TV presenter Jeff released an honest and reflective statement, which read: “I’m so full of love and gratitude for Kate. For all we achieved, for how much we grew, for everything we endured. I’m so proud of how hard we worked, how we kept showing up, we gave everything and more. I’m also so full of respect and admiration for the successful career Kate has built and the way she cared for me unconditionally. It’s credit to the woman she is that she still checks in to ask how the boys are doing because she is so invested in their lives. They love her and I have many friends that love her too. I will miss her family who always went above and beyond to support us.”

But a year on, Kate has taken to Instagram in what some fans think could be seen as a swipe. Posting from a sandy beach and captioned her snap: “Crazy to think a year ago this week my life turned upside down. Sitting in the sun in my favourite place with my best friend on the other side of it all. I wish I could tell that Kate how good it would get. Got my pink back.”

Reflections on a tough year

A source claimed at the time that the pair - who met in 2013 and tied the knot five years later - split after a very demanding year. "It's been an incredibly stressful year for all of them," they said. "It’s been one thing after another. The pressure they’re under has exposed the weaknesses in their marriage and it’s become too much. Kate has told friends she’s had enough."

At the end of last year, Jeff reflected on what had been a tough 2025 for him. He wrote: "Feeling incredibly reflective and just sent this to a friend and wanted to share. My outlook is I'm used to carrying the heavy stuff and I honestly believe I can do that and thrive at the same time. Life will always push and pull it's just at this point, the lessons are only making me more resourced and capable. I'm at the point of pure gratitude for the tough stuff because it has shown me how to become truly safe for anyone that needs me and that's the man I want to be. Why is being safe so important? Firstly when you come from a background of trauma in whichever form safety isn't so easily found just because you're in a new environment it's a long hard road to creating it within yourself so that we don't run those old trauma responses for the rest of our lives."
