Kaleb Cooper has revealed why he didn't rush to the hospital when his fiancée Taya was in labour last summer. The 27-year-old Clarkson's Farm star and Taya welcomed their third child, Ashton, in August 2025. However, Kaleb was in no hurry to get to the maternity centre. Instead, he finished working on the farm.
Kaleb's Explanation on This Morning
Appearing on ITV's This Morning, Kaleb told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: 'Taya called me up. I think I was about halfway through the field and Taya called me up to tell me she'd gone into labour. And I said, 'Do you want me to come now?' She said, 'Oh no, but come shortly,' and I said, 'Well, I'll finish this field, and then I'll be there.''
He added: 'And, of course, I did. I finished the field, got home, had a shower, had some dinner, had a great time, then went into the maternity centre and had the baby and back home within an hour and a half!'
Through laughter, Ben asked: 'Wait, did you have a shower and dinner as well before you went to see her?' 'Yeah,' replied Kaleb.
Baby Ashton's Arrival
Kaleb shared a photo of newborn Ashton wrapped in a blanket and blue cap on social media, writing: 'Baby number 3. Everyone, meet Ashton, weighing 6.13lb, born 14th August at 6:28pm at Chipping Norton Maternity. Ps, don't worry, I bought the amazing midwife's a Chinese as well.'
Jeremy Clarkson first announced the news in his Sun column, joking: 'The boy wonder Kaleb Cooper, who manages my farm, received word this week that his fiancée was in labour. 'Right,' he said. 'I'll be there when I've finished harvesting this field, how farmerish is that?!?!'
Jeremy also noted that a friend suggested naming the baby after the field Kaleb was harvesting, but the field was called Deadman, so that didn't happen.
Kaleb's Family Plans
Kaleb and Taya announced their pregnancy in February 2025, sharing a scan photo with the caption: 'Very excited to announce that baby Cooper number 3 is cooking... Going to be a very, very busy August.'
During the This Morning interview, Kaleb said: 'Life is busy, it's quite busy. I'm probably going to get castrated this year. I don't want any more babies! I've got three kids, and they're all amazing kids, but life is very busy. I'm going to stop at three and hopefully enjoy fatherhood with the three kids.'
