Junior and Princess Andre have been left 'gutted' after ITV reportedly blocked them from participating in the upcoming I'm A Celebrity spin-off, The Wild Frontier. The siblings, aged 21 and 19 respectively, had hoped to join the new series as a team, but their request was denied due to their recent involvement in the BBC's Celebrity Race Across the World.
Rejection Over Similar Format
According to a source, the ITV casting team decided not to consider the Andres because both shows involve celebrities competing in pairs. The insider told The Sun: 'The other issue is that Race Across The World hasn't even aired yet and they could potentially air very close together. The last thing ITV bosses want is to look like they are following other series.' The rejection has been described as 'a big blow' for Junior and Princess, who were 'gutted' to find out they won't be considered.
Dream of Following Parents' Footsteps
The siblings had long expressed interest in joining I'm A Celeb, viewing it as a 'sweet full-circle moment' since their parents, Katie Price and Peter Andre, met on the show in 2004. Junior previously called the series 'so amazing' and said joining it 'would actually be a very big achievement.' The spin-off, created to mark the franchise's 25th anniversary, will move contestants from the Australian jungle to the rugged wilderness of Canada, with filming set to begin in September 2026 and airing in 2027. Campers will rough it in the Callaghan Valley near Whistler Olympic Park, an area known for grizzly bears, black bears, and mountain lions.
Potential Future Opportunities
The source added: 'They are hoping there might be another opportunity in the future, but for now it's a definite no.' The Mirror has contacted Junior and Princess' representative for comment. Katie Price and Peter Andre married in 2005 after their I'm A Celeb meeting, becoming reality TV icons, but divorced acrimoniously in 2009.
