Josie Gibson shows off weight loss in bikini after liposuction

This Morning favourite Josie Gibson has shown off her slimmed-down figure after undergoing surgery as part of her battle with lipoedema. The TV presenter, 41, shared a video on Instagram wearing a floral string bikini and enjoying the sunshine, proudly displaying the results of the procedures she previously revealed had cost around £7,000.

Camp Bestival appearance

Advertising Camp Bestival, which is held in Dorset and presented by Debenhams, Josie revealed she would be judging the fancy dress competition and urged her fans to get involved. Looking healthy and happy in the video, Josie was all smiles as she wore a tiny two piece to highlight her curves.

Fans of the Big Brother star were quick to heap compliments on her. One user gushed, "lookin fabulous josie". Another person wrote, "Wowww you look fantastic in the bikini!" While someone else chimed in, "You look absolutely stunning! Fit hot and so very sexy and gorgeous bikini. What a milf."

Lipoedema diagnosis and treatment

Earlier this year, Josie explained she had undergone liposuction followed by a brachioplasty, commonly known as an arm lift, after being diagnosed with lipoedema, a chronic condition that causes an abnormal build-up of fat, most commonly in the legs, hips and arms. According to the NHS, lipoedema almost exclusively affects women and is different from obesity. The condition can cause pain, swelling and reduced mobility, with diet and exercise often having little effect on the affected areas.

In March, Josie revealed surgeons had removed around 45% of the tissue from her arms after years of struggling with the condition. She has since documented her recovery on social media, recently telling fans she was keen to "show off my new arms" after the operation.

Struggles with lipoedema

Despite maintaining an active lifestyle, the presenter previously admitted she found it impossible to shift the excess fat caused by lipoedema. Speaking about the decision to have surgery, Josie explained she had become self-conscious about wearing sleeveless tops and wanted to feel more comfortable during the summer months.

She also revealed she has embraced a range of wellness treatments to aid her recovery, including lymphatic drainage therapy, collagen supplements and home workouts. Following the operation, Josie reassured fans she had experienced very little pain, although the recovery forced her to slow down. She said the biggest challenge was being unable to carry out everyday tasks, adding that the surgery had "stopped me in my tracks".
