Josie Gibson Shows Off Five Stone Weight Loss in Instagram Post

Josie Gibson showcased her remarkable five stone weight loss in a striking Instagram post on Monday, wearing blue skinny jeans and a stylish ski coat. The 40-year-old television presenter has been transparent about her weight fluctuations over the years, having previously reduced from a size 20 to a size eight back in 2014.

Confident Pose and Project Tease

In the casual yet chic outfit, Josie confidently struck a pose, highlighting her transformed physique. Alongside the image, she teased followers about working on a "really special" project that has kept her schedule exceptionally busy.

She captioned the post: "I would like to apologise to anyone I haven't got back to, just know that I will. I've been working on something really special and the schedule has been so full on... but my god it's going to be so worth it."

Josie added: "Loving this new project and I can't wait to share the news soon. The coat is from @mysundayski and I thought it was too pretty to only wear for the slopes."

Lipoedema Surgery and Health Battle

The skinny-fit jeans prominently displayed the results of recent liposuction therapy on her legs, part of her ongoing health battle with lipoedema. Josie recently disclosed that she underwent surgery to try to reverse the effects of this chronic condition, with plans for several more procedures despite the substantial £7,000 price tag per surgery.

During an appearance on This Morning, Josie explained to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: "Somebody actually said on Instagram, 'You've got a typical lipoedema body.' I always knew something wasn't right with my body, but I didn't know what lipoedema was at all - and I got diagnosed about a year ago and in September I had surgery."

Surgical Procedures Explained

Josie's treatment involved liposuction to remove stubborn, localised fat deposits, followed by VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) treatment. This secondary procedure uses ultrasound waves to break down fat cells more effectively.

According to the NHS, lipoedema is a long-term chronic condition characterised by abnormal accumulation of fat and connective tissue in the legs, hips, bottom, and sometimes arms, typically affecting both sides of the body equally.

Newfound Confidence and Lifestyle

With her renewed sense of confidence, Josie recently shared a bikini photo from a holiday with her son Reggie, demonstrating her comfort with her body. She jetted off to Thailand and shared with Instagram followers how she enjoyed "wild" parties during her stay.

Josie wrote about her Thailand experience: "Here's to everyone asking for hotel recommendations for Thailand. This is the @twinpalmsmontazurephuket it has some amazing beach clubs and the parties are just how I like them...wild. The staff were sensational thank you for a wonderful stay."

Diet and Weight Loss Secrets

Josie recently revealed to the Daily Mail her daily eating habits, explaining that she swears by intermittent fasting three days weekly, combined with a simple gym routine and what she calls a "1970s diet." This approach emphasises smaller portions and traditional foods like boiled potatoes, liver, spam, pork, beans, and Angel Delight.

The diet focuses on simpler, less processed foods, minimal sugar, and home-cooked meals rather than convenience options like takeaways and frozen ready meals. However, Josie humorously insisted that her weight loss results from a combination of "stress" and "good angles," claiming "I'm not as slim as you think."

She quipped: "I bought a house which I'm renovating in Bath, trying to be a mum, running around the country working. I got so overwhelmed I got to Thailand and slept for 27 hours." Josie added: "I think it must be good angles, I'm so chunky and not as slim as you think."

The presenter's journey continues to inspire followers as she balances health challenges, career projects, and personal life with remarkable transparency and humour.
