Jonathan Ross has transformed his London home into a Halloween attraction for trick-or-treaters, forgoing the lavish celebrity parties he once hosted. The 64-year-old chat show host put on an elaborate display on Friday evening, featuring skulls, cobwebs and live performers.
The former presenter of The Traitors, who was banished from the reality show earlier this week, has not held his famous Halloween party since before the pandemic. He stopped the event out of consideration for his daughter Betty, who has fibromyalgia, a chronic condition causing pain and fatigue.
Speaking on The Traitors: Uncloaked, Ross said he might one day revive the event but noted: "They cost a fortune." He also admitted that of the adults he invited in the past, he only genuinely knew 30 percent.
His annual party at his former Hampstead home was a highlight of the celebrity calendar until 2019, with guests including Dame Joan Collins, Holly Willoughby, Nicole Scherzinger and Alan Carr. The event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic and Betty's health, before returning at Camden's KOKO club in 2022.
Last year, Ross explained that Betty is back living with them and they are looking after her. He said: "We want to be conscious of that and not have so much noise when she's upstairs." Betty confirmed her diagnosis on Instagram, describing the condition as a "relief" as it meant her pain was acknowledged.
