John Grimes, one half of the pop duo Jedward, has spoken about his decision to appear solo on the reality show Celebrity Ex On The Beach. The 34-year-old, who rose to fame with his twin brother Edward on The X Factor in 2009, said the show marks a new chapter for him as he takes part without his sibling.
Grimes revealed that both Edward and their friend Gemma Collins encouraged him to join the programme. He explained that he sees it as an opportunity to end relationships on a neutral note and possibly rekindle past connections. His ex-girlfriend Sarah Carragher appeared on the show, and Grimes confirmed they shared a kiss and are still in contact.
Regarding Collins' upcoming wedding to Rami Hawash, Grimes said he and Edward will play a significant role in the celebrations. He described himself as a mediator for the couple, helping them through disagreements. Grimes expressed his willingness to sing at the wedding and even joked about officiating, though he acknowledged that would require being a priest.
Grimes also supported Collins before she entered the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, accompanying her to the airport to ensure she was in a good headspace. He speculated that her wedding might be a multi-city tour, similar to the Spice Girls' Spice World concept.
