Former Geelong AFL star Jimmy Bartel, 37, has been spotted publicly with his new girlfriend Amelia Shepperd, 31, for the first time, just days after confirming their relationship on Instagram. The couple were seen enjoying a stroll in Melbourne on Monday, looking relaxed in matching all-black outfits.
Amelia, an executive assistant, wore a chic blazer, palazzo trousers, and sneakers, accessorised with a silver pendant necklace and a Dylan Kain handbag worth around $400. Bartel dressed casually in a T-shirt, shorts, a green baseball cap, and colourful sneakers, carrying a mustard tote bag.
The pair appeared in high spirits, chatting and smiling as they walked. Both sported noticeable tans, suggesting a recent visit to a salon. Bartel recently declared he has 'never been happier' with Amelia, following his difficult splits from ex-wife Nadia Bartel and former flame Lauren Mand.
Bartel surprised fans last Thursday by revealing his new relationship on Instagram, posting a photo of himself kissing Amelia in front of Sydney Harbour with the caption 'Happy' and a red heart emoji. Amelia, known as Milly, previously worked as an executive assistant for Queensland Rugby League and has since returned to Melbourne after living in Brisbane.
She reportedly moves in the same social circles as Bartel's ex-wife Nadia and is friends with Jessie Murphy, wife of former Carlton captain Marc Murphy. The couple are believed to have been together since Bartel's split from Lauren Mand, whom he dated after his separation from Nadia in 2019.
