Jesy Nelson Fuels Romance Rumours with Mystery Man After Split from Fiancé Zion Foster
The former Little Mix star, Jesy Nelson, has ignited speculation about her love life after being spotted enjoying a luxurious hotel spa day with an unidentified man. This outing comes just three months after her split from fiancé Zion Foster, adding fuel to the rumours of a new romantic interest.
Social Media Snaps Spark Dating Speculation
Jesy Nelson took to social media to share glimpses of her spa retreat, but carefully avoided revealing the face of her mystery companion. In one photo, she showcased an impressive swimming pool with a striking stone centrepiece, where a man could be seen at the edge, with only his arms and legs visible. Another snap captured the pair enjoying cocktails together, further fuelling the dating rumours.
The 34-year-old singer, who announced her engagement to Zion Foster last year, confirmed their separation in January. This split occurred shortly after she revealed that their twin daughters, Ocean and Story, had been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition.
Strain of Family Trauma on Relationship
Jesy Nelson opened up about how the traumatic experience of their daughters' diagnosis took a toll on her relationship with Zion Foster. She explained that their primary focus has been on providing a positive and uplifting environment for their children, but the strain affected their dynamic. "The energy wasn't right between us, which is understandable," she stated, emphasising that they remain committed to co-parenting and are "still friends and still united" in raising their daughters.
Daughters' Battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy
The twin girls were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1 in January, a severe genetic neuromuscular disease that weakens muscles by affecting motor nerve cells in the spinal cord. This type is the most common and severe, with a life expectancy of less than two years without medical intervention. Jesy has been actively campaigning to raise awareness about SMA and has shared that her daughters will undergo more tests amid their battle.
Campaigning Success for Newborn Screening
In a positive development, Jesy Nelson celebrated a major milestone in her campaigning efforts. She announced that SMA will be included in newborn screening in England starting in October, a change she has been advocating for after her own daughters were not tested at birth. "I know it is a really big moment for the SMA community because this has been going on for years trying to get this passed," she said, expressing pride in the progress.
However, she noted that the rollout is not nationwide, describing it as a "postcode lottery" where approximately 163,000 babies in certain parts of England will not be screened. Jesy emphasised the importance of universal testing, highlighting that there are life-changing treatments available, such as Nusinersen (Spinraza), Evrysdi, and Zolgensma, which are approved on the NHS but often administered too late to reverse nerve damage.
Despite the challenges, Jesy remains in good spirits, recently sharing playful moments with her daughters and joking about their long hair making them look like "Cabbage Patch dolls." Her focus continues to be on her family and advocacy work, even as rumours about her personal life swirl.
