Jeremy Kyle slams Harry and Meghan UK return in nine words

TalkTV star Jeremy Kyle eviscerated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a scathing nine-word remark following the announcement of their return to the UK. It was confirmed on Wednesday, August 19, that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who quit royal life six years ago, will sensationally return to the UK at the end of August.

Kyle's scathing response

“Two more economic migrants on their way to England,” Kyle spat in a nine-word putdown, as he shared the news that they will take up permanent residency in Harry's homeland. Speaking on his morning show on the channel, he said: “We're told that the royals didn't find out until Sunday. I bet William and Kate are seething....There will be people listening to this who go, 'Oh, that's lovely'. I'm very cynical,” he admitted. “I don't believe...anything [that] comes out of their mouths...I jokingly said at 6 o'clock, two more economic migrants on their way to England,” he said before encouraging viewers to call the show and leave a welcome home voice note for the couple.

Details of the return

The couple's children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, will be enrolled on a British school. It is also believed that the family will live in a private, non-royal residence. They are not expected to return to life as working royals. While Harry and Meghan may be returning to the UK and enrolling their children on school here, it is believed they will keep their mansion in Montecito, California. They purchased their American home in 2020 after stepping down from royal life in Britain and moving across the pond. They will also reportedly keep their holiday home in Portugal. The location where they will be living and where they send their children to school is set to remain private.

Reaction from the Palace and government

It has been claimed the Prince and Princess of Wales had received “prior warning” about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's bombshell decision to relocate to the UK, it has been claimed. Kensington Palace has remained silent on Thursday morning, following the bombshell announcement on Wednesday night. It is unclear if they have bought their new UK home or will rent, and at this stage, it isn't clear if the family have been given security assurances, and whether the financial burden will fall on taxpayers. Responding to the news, the Home Office said: “The UK Government's protective security system is rigorous and proportionate. It is our longstanding policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals' security.”
