Jennifer Aniston has made a rare comment about her ex-husband Brad Pitt, speaking about him more than two decades after their divorce. In an interview with her former Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow for Variety's Actors on Actors, the actress reminisced about working with Pitt on the hit sitcom.
Thanksgiving Episode Memories
During the conversation, Aniston asked Kudrow if she enjoyed the Thanksgiving episodes of Friends, noting that she thought they 'were fun.' Kudrow responded, 'Yes. Those were great, the Thanksgiving episodes. When Brad was on, that was hilarious.' Aniston immediately agreed, saying, 'That was hilarious! We had so many [guest stars] - Sean Penn. They were always nervous. Remember? I always found it fascinating how nervous they were.'
Pitt appeared in a 2001 Thanksgiving episode titled 'The One with the Rumor,' playing Will, a former classmate of Ross (David Schwimmer), Monica (Courteney Cox), and Rachel (Aniston). He and Ross had formed an 'I Hate Rachel Green' club in high school, which Rachel discovers during the dinner.
Marriage and Divorce
Aniston and Pitt were still married when he made his guest appearance. They were first introduced by their managers in 1994 and began dating after Aniston split from Tate Donovan and Pitt ended his engagement to Gwyneth Paltrow. They married in 2000 in a Malibu wedding rumored to have cost $1 million. However, they separated in 2005, and Pitt later began a relationship with Angelina Jolie. Aniston married Justin Theroux in 2015, and they divorced in 2018.
Ongoing Friendship
Despite their divorce, Aniston and Pitt have remained on good terms. Pitt attended Aniston's 50th birthday party in 2019, and they shared a warm hug backstage at the 2020 SAG Awards. Aniston once told Vanity Fair, 'I really do hope that someday we can be friends again. I will love [Brad] for the rest of my life. He's a fantastic man.' Pitt echoed this sentiment, stating, 'Jen and I still maintain a deep friendship and have a lot of life together that isn't erased in any way.'
