Janet Street-Porter Announces Tour at 80, Gets Support

Loose Women star Janet Street-Porter, 79, has been flooded with support from fans after announcing her "big news" on social media: a new 32-date tour across the UK called Still Off the Leash at 80. The tour begins in September 2026, marking her 80th year.

Tour Announcement and Details

In an Instagram video, Street-Porter said: "Hello there! Guess what? I'm 80 this year, it's a miracle isn't it? Anyway, my agent has decided I better earn him some money before I pop off to that great disco in the sky. So, he's sending me off on yet another one woman show! The biggest one yet. I'm gonna go all over the country, from Kent to Aberdeen, 32 dates!"

She added in the caption: "JSP BIG NEWS I’m going on tour again! Yep — 32 dates across the country, and I’ll be coming to a theatre near you. If you want to hear all the things I can’t say on daytime telly, grab yourself a ticket!"

Co-panellist Ruth Langsford commented: "I’ll be there….again!!"

Health Challenges and Recovery

The broadcaster, who became a regular Loose Women panellist in 2011, briefly left the show last year for a knee replacement. She had previously undergone a hip replacement in October 2025. Speaking about her knee surgery, she said: "I'm going for a knee replacement, my right knee. I've had my left knee done, oh it must be eight or nine years ago. Last October, I had my left hip replaced, so the left-hand side of my body is virtually bionic."

She admitted to being in "a huge amount of pain" and added: "I'm gonna be off for three weeks, so I'm not off forever, I'm gonna be doing all that physio and I want to say to anyone out there contemplating knee replacement, stick to the exercises. Get up, move around as much as you can... The last two weeks have been really chronic."
