Jamie Redknapp has been enjoying a family holiday in Italy with his wife Frida and their son Raphael, four. The former footballer, 53, shared photos from the trip on Instagram, showing the couple with their arms around each other and Frida posing in an off-the-shoulder mini dress with white heels as they headed for dinner. Other images showed the family by the pool in the summer sunshine.
Louise Redknapp's split
The holiday comes after it was revealed this week that Jamie's ex-wife Louise Redknapp, 51, split from her new man, businessman and former Army officer Drew Michael, 42, earlier this year. Despite Louise's relationship ending, Jamie appeared keen to share his happiness online.
A source told The Sun: "Louise and Drew decided to end things a little while ago. Things had been really good between them but it felt like their relationship had run its course and they both thought it was best to move on. It was all very amicable and although it’s never fun when a relationship ends, Louise has thrown herself back into her social life and her busy work schedule."
Louise's previous marriage
Jamie and Louise's split shocked fans at the time, as the couple had been married for 19 years. Louise later admitted she regrets rushing through the 2017 divorce and wished she had communicated her struggles rather than walking away.
After years as a stay-at-home mum, Louise felt frustrated with her career. She had stepped back from music to raise their sons Charley, 21, and Beau, 17, while Jamie flourished on TV. In 2016, she joined Strictly Come Dancing, but within a year the marriage was over. Louise has been open about wanting to escape her "Stepford Wife" role but later said she shouldn't have blamed her marriage solely for her unhappiness.
Louise's current outlook
Pals suggest the former Eternal band member is thriving as a singleton and is in no rush to settle down again. She is said to be "just seeing what happens." In 2019, Louise told You magazine: "I'm scared about the future - Jamie and I have got to a really positive place with each other, but I don't know what life is going to be like."
