Former Strictly Come Dancing professionals James Jordan and Brendan Cole have announced their new podcast, Manopause, which explores the highs, lows and challenges of the male experience, particularly as men get older.
The pair appeared on ITV's This Morning on Wednesday (August 19) to discuss the new series. The conversation turned personal when hosts Angela Scanlon and Craig Doyle asked James how he was coping following the breakdown of his marriage to Ola Jordan.
James Jordan Opens Up About Separation
James, 48, admitted that the situation had been tough and revealed that he moved out of the family home several months ago. He said: "I'm OK. It's been a tough few years and obviously myself and Ola, I've moved out a few months ago and it has been really tough."
James also opened up about his new living arrangements, revealing that he is now staying alone in a one-bedroom apartment. He described finding himself sitting alone in the evenings watching television and questioning what was happening, but said that having time to himself was something he currently needed as he attempted to "find myself again."
Podcast Name Sparks Reactions
While James and Brendan explained what listeners can expect from the podcast, its unusual name quickly caught the attention of viewers on X. One social media user joked: "Women can’t even have the menopause without men hijacking it for themselves with their mid life crisis rebranding."
Another questioned the podcast's online presence, writing: "They've got awful SEO. Seems to be at least five other podcasts called Manopause." A third added: "Menopause, something else you can claim PIP for?"
Support Between Friends
The former professional dancers recently announced that they were taking time apart after more than two decades together, saying they were working through "very difficult personal challenges." Brendan also offered an insight into their friendship, revealing that he and James speak every day and have remained a source of support for one another.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
