Jake Hall's death continues to remain a mystery, an inquest has heard today, over a month on from his passing in Majorca. The former Only Way Is Essex star was found in a pool of blood after he ran through a single-glazed glass door last month during a trip to Majorca.
Inquest Opened in the UK
An inquest into Jake's death has been opened in the UK following his passing. The inquest heard how Jake's body was repatriated to the UK following his death and a post-mortem was carried out in the UK but it was unable to determine the cause of death.
Coroner Nadia Persaud has requested toxicology reports, police reports and witness statements from Spanish authorities. As part of the inquest opening, she also made his family members "interested persons", meaning they are able to interrogate any evidence or witnesses in future inquest court sessions.
Funeral and Wake
Jake was laid to rest last week by his family, friends and loved ones, over a month after his passing. The sombre funeral service was attended by exes Misse Beqiri and Chloe Lewis - as well as David Beckham's mum and sister and a number of Jake's TOWIE co-stars.
The wake took place in Shoreditch and featured a fashion installation, a full art exhibition of Jake's original paintings, live performances and a club night. The event was criticised by some but Jake's brother Sonny Hall issued a statement on behalf of the family.
"We wanted to give Jake a send-off that matched who he was - not a quiet room, not a conventional goodbye. He lived out loud. He built things. He made people feel something. Last night was our way of saying: we saw you," he said. "We're proud of you. And we're not done yet. The art, the foundation, everything we're building in his name - that's the mission continuing. Choose everything."
Tributes from Chloe Lewis
Chloe later took to social media to pay tribute to Jake, writing: "I honestly wish I could change what happened. Someone who I just thought would be in my life regardless of where we was in life. I truly hope one day I get to see you again. I'll look after your people & hand on my heart, I'll LOVE you forever. I'm so sorry."
A provisional date on December 7th has been set for the full inquest.
