Essex police statement

A spokesperson for Essex police told Metro: 'A man is due to appear in court on Monday charged with a drug-driving offence. Jack Tweed, 39, was arrested on Three Mile Hill, Chelmsford, on 6 December. He was charged with driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.'

Marriage to Jade Goody

Tweed was married to Big Brother star Jade Goody, who died aged 27 after a battle with cervical cancer. The couple married one month before her death in 2009 at Down Hall country house near Hatfield Heath, after Tweed proposed by the River Thames.

Through their marriage, Tweed became stepfather to Goody's two sons, Bobby and Freddy, from her former partner Jeff Brazier. Tweed became estranged from the boys for some time but reconnected with them several years ago, and they are believed to have a good relationship.

Ongoing tribute

Tweed remains dedicated to his late wife, often sharing old photographs of the pair on Instagram and fundraising for cancer charities in her memory. Her public battle with the disease prompted hundreds of thousands of calls to Cancer Research UK, and she was credited with boosting awareness of the condition.

Metro has contacted a representative for Jack for comment.
