GB News Live from Green Park

GB News went live to Green Park, London, for an on-location update about the ceremonial Trooping the Colour royal event. The stellar parade, which marks King Charles's official birthday, drew in crowds of thousands from across the world as the Royal Family made a joint public appearance for the impressive display of pageantry. As one of the biggest military ceremonies of the year, it features around 1,600 parading soldiers, 400 musicians and more than 200 horses.

From the studio, presenter Nana Akua was joined via video link by GB News' national reporter Jack Carson, who shared his thoughts about the event. He revealed: 'It's just been incredible. There's been such a feeling from everybody attending here of excitement, of pride, of being proud of all this pomp and pageantry that we see every year.'

Jack added: 'Trooping the Colour has been marking the King's official birthday since the 18th century.'

Jack's Verdict on the Celebration

The reporter continued: 'That's how many centuries of tradition that all of this makes up today, and you've got behind me one of the best views in central London, down the Mall here, all the union flags proudly flying there. This place was absolutely packed, we was speaking to people from New Zealand, from Australia, from America, people from all over the world wanting to come and get a glimpse of his majesty the King, of her majesty the queen and the other royals as well.'

After airing a clip of excited onlookers, Jack added: 'As you can see there, so many people wanting to come out here and see all of this. Then, of course, they all flooded down the Mall to be able to catch some of the nine red arrows. All nine were in action today in the beautiful smoke of red, white and blue. I think it's actually one of the biggest flypasts we've seen at a ceremonial occasion for quite some years. Of course, some had to be cancelled because of the weather in previous years.'

Thousands Gather for the Spectacle

Thousands gathered to watch the Trooping of the Colour. This marked the fourth Trooping the Colour appearance of King Charles' reign, and he was joined by the entire Royal Family. On the Buckingham Palace balcony, King Charles and Queen Camilla were pictured centre in between Prince William and Princess Catherine and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The King and Queen were also joined by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent. As they assembled to watch the spectacular flypast, the monarchs were welcomed to loud cheers from the crowds.
