ITV Confirms Bullseye Reboot with Freddie Flintoff

ITV has issued an exciting update on the future of Bullseye. The broadcaster has confirmed that the much-loved darts-based game show has been recommissioned for a new series. Former England cricketer Freddie Flintoff, who has presented recent reboots of the programme, is returning as host.

He will be joined by scorer Richard Ashdown and some of the world’s best professional darts players, who will take to the oche in the hope of winning prizes for contestants.

"It’s great that Bullseye still has a special place in the nation’s heart, as it does mine, and I loved bringing it back on TV screens," said Freddie after the news was announced. "I can’t wait to see what a new season brings."

Bullseye was a big hit with viewers during the 1980s and 1990s when it was hosted by the late TV legend Jim Bowen. It returned for a Christmas instalment in 2024 and was then rebooted for a complete series in 2025, with Freddie on hosting duty.

Earlier this year it was back on TV screens for a Soccer Aid charity special, and fans had made it clear they hoped that a full run would follow. Many have posted messages on social media calling the programme "brilliant" and saying it's the "best" game show on television. One said it was "the greatest British game show" ever. Someone else insisted that there was no other show "in the entire history of the medium that could ever objectively compare" to the darts programme.

Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment, reality and daytime commissioning at ITV, said: "Bullseye is a cherished format which has proved incredibly popular with viewers since its return, undoubtedly helped by Freddie. We’re thrilled to be bringing another series to screens later this year."

Lily Wilson, managing director at Bright Entertainment, ITV Studios’ unscripted entertainment label, added: "We are thrilled to be bringing the iconic Bullseye back to British TV audiences later this year. With Freddie Flintoff equally as adored by the public, he is the perfect host for this modern take on a TV classic."

Bullseye is available to watch on ITVX.
