Iranian television presenter Farzad Jamshidi has died suddenly from a heart attack at the age of 56, his daughter has confirmed. The news anchor, who worked for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), passed away on June 29, 2026, according to reports from Fars News. He reportedly had no prior health issues.
Career and Controversy
Jamshidi was best known for hosting morning news programmes on Channel 2, as well as educational shows such as Yad Khoda and Mah Khoda on Channel 1. He had recently been banned from IRIB after speaking out against Iran's negotiations with the United States. Despite the ban, rumours had circulated that he was set to return to Channel 2 with a religious and cultural programme before his death.
He also previously served as head of the Office of Coordination and Organisation at IRIB.
