Prop Store, a Los Angeles- and London-based auction house, will offer over 850 items of Hollywood memorabilia in a live auction on August 26 and 27. Prices range from $100 to $500,000.
Among the highlights is the fighter pilot helmet worn by Tom Cruise as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell in the 1986 film 'Top Gun', estimated at $50,000 to $70,000. Also on offer is the Vista Vision motion picture camera used by Alfred Hitchcock during the filming of his 1958 classic 'Vertigo', valued at $50,000 to $70,000.
Other notable lots include the 11-foot Nostromo principal filming model miniature from 'Alien' (1979), estimated at $300,000 to $500,000, and a Darth Vader promotional costume from 'Star Wars: A New Hope' (1977), with a poster-matched helmet, valued at $150,000 to $250,000.
Automotive enthusiasts may bid on the yellow Cadillac Coupe De Ville driven by Leonardo DiCaprio's character Rick Dalton in 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood' (2019), estimated at $45,000 to $55,000, and the blue Karmann Ghia used by Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth, valued at $20,000 to $30,000.
Prop Store was founded in 1998 by collector Stephen Lane and now boasts over 25,000 square feet of archived props and costumes. COO Brandon Alinger, an expert in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, heads the U.S. operation.
