Instagram model Kauana Bilhar, 27, died after falling from the 27th floor of a high-rise building in Dubai, days after announcing her engagement to partner Barbara Abrantes. Her mother, Darla Bilhar, confirmed the death on July 7 and has flown to Dubai to monitor the police investigation and arrange for her daughter's remains to be returned to Brazil.
Mother's Heartbreaking Tribute
In a statement, Darla said: 'There are no words capable of expressing the magnitude of the longing you left behind. Today you are no longer by my side as I dreamed, but you will live forever within me. I love you infinitely, my girl. Until the day we can meet again.'
The cause of death remains unknown as a police probe takes place, according to the Daily Star. Kauana's final social media post was a celebration of her engagement on June 25.
Mother Calls for Respect
Darla has also called for respect for her daughter after social media was flooded with vicious comments. She added: 'My daughter deserves respect. She can no longer respond to the accusations, the malicious comments, the stories that are being created about her. It is with my soul in pieces that I come to speak out. My daughter deserves respect.'
Kauana, a Brazilian influencer, gained a large following through her modelling pictures and travel posts. Her engagement to Barbara Abrantes was announced shortly before the tragedy.
