Home Alone Star Daniel Stern Hospitalised After Medical Emergency

Daniel Stern, best known for playing Marv in the 1990 film Home Alone, was hospitalised following a medical emergency on 7 October, according to TMZ. The 68-year-old actor was taken to a local hospital in Ventura County, California, as reported by the county's fire department. He has since returned home and is reported to be in good health.

Stern, who also appeared in the 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York alongside Macaulay Culkin and Joe Pesci, has in recent years left Los Angeles for a secluded ranch in California. There, he works as a cattle rancher, grows tangerines, and creates sculptures. Fans have affectionately nicknamed him the 'Citrus Bandit' in reference to his new lifestyle.

The father of three frequently shares insights into farm living on social media. Speaking to People, he said: 'What I love about social media is you can tell your story, and it feels good to tell it. And sort of that's the final step of any artistic creation is giving it to an audience.' He added that his work as an artist and sculptor has been closely influenced by his Hollywood experience.

Stern explained that he found being a Hollywood star too 'overwhelming', leading to his decision to move away from LA with his family. 'I made enough money that I didn't have to work,' he told the publication. 'I bought the house in cash. I bought the cars in cash.' He has been married to actress Laure Mattos since 1980, and they have three children: Henry, Sophie, and Ella Marie.
