Holly Willoughby has revealed that her children still believe their kitten Teddy went to live with his mum, when in fact he died after being run over. The presenter made the admission while speaking to Katherine Ryan on her YouTube show Holly Willoughby Together.
Sharing a photo of the kitten, Willoughby said: "Right, here's the first one that isn't a child, which looks really cute. But actually, this was Teddy, I know. Teddy died. Yeah, Teddy died. Teddy was a little kitten that came along and p****d over everything."
Kitten's "sticky end" kept from children
She continued: "And then Teddy got run over when he was really little. But I don't think the kids know that. I think the kids still think that Teddy went to go and live with his mum."
"He's only little. So Teddy came to a bit of a sticky end. So that was a bit of a sad one."
Family life and career
Willoughby married TV producer Daniel Baldwin on August 4, 2007, after they met on the set of children's TV show Ministry of Mayhem, which she hosted alongside Stephen Mulhern. The couple have three children: Harry, born 2009, Belle, born 2011, and Chester, born 2014. She is known for keeping her children out of the spotlight but occasionally offers fans a look at family life on Instagram.
The admission comes as she moves on from her This Morning era, which she hosted alongside Phillip Schofield before stepping away from the ITV show in October 2023. Of her new project, she said: "I'm so proud of the work all the team who make Together have put into this exciting new project. We've had a lot of fun developing it and look forward to seeing what you think."
Guests and Wylde Moon
The series is set to feature Stanley Tucci, Emma Bunton, Nicole Appleton and Joanne McNally, with conversations spanning everything from beauty and health to advice and fashion.
It follows Willoughby's move into the lifestyle space with the launch of her Wylde Moon brand in 2021. At the time, she announced: "I invite you to come on in and join the journey. Let's discover together, learn together, laugh together. Let's celebrate and empower those around us. Let's find out what we love."
Elaborating on the venture via her website, Willoughby, who has also appeared on Celebrity Juice, Celebrity Bear Hunt and Dancing on Ice, explained: "In creating Wylde Moon for you, I've filled a need in me. I'd lost a part of who I was and that rediscovery has led me here, to a whole new place of beauty and power."
