Holly Ramsay, the influencer daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, has potentially reignited tensions with her new husband Adam Peaty's estranged family following their lavish wedding. The couple exchanged vows at Bath Abbey on December 17 in a ceremony attended by high-profile guests including Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham.
A Wedding Overshadowed by Family Strife
Despite the pomp and celebrity attendance, the event was dominated by a bitter family dispute. The Olympic swimmer's mother, Caroline Peaty, was barred from attending the service. In a show of solidarity with Caroline, Adam's father Mark, his brothers James and Richard, and several other relatives, including his aunt Louise and cousin Luke, chose to boycott the wedding entirely.
This left Adam's older sister, Bethany, as one of the only principal family members from his side present to witness the union at the historic abbey.
An Instagram Post Unaware of the Discord
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Holly appeared to be oblivious to the ongoing rift as she fondly recalled the lead-up to the wedding. She highlighted the crucial part her own brothers and sisters played in organising the pre-wedding festivities, a detail that could be seen as a pointed contrast to the absence of Adam's family.
She wrote: 'The night before our wedding we hosted an intimate cocktail party to kick start the Weekend Celebrations. My siblings all did a speech which was so special and we celebrated with cake, spicy margs and then an early night, ready for the big day!!'
Potential for Further Antagonism
By publicly celebrating the involvement of her siblings while Adam's family were conspicuously absent or excluded, Holly's post risks being perceived as insensitive and may further antagonise the Peaty family. The post underscores the deep division that marred what was otherwise a glittering society wedding in the city of Bath.
The situation presents a challenging start to married life for the couple, with the public airing of family loyalties potentially complicating any future reconciliation efforts between Adam Peaty and his estranged relatives.
