Holly Ramsay has paid tribute to her 'incredible' mother Tana on her 51st birthday, sharing hopes about motherhood as husband Adam Peaty's estrangement from his own family deepens.
The influencer, 26, who is expecting her first child with Peaty, posted a nostalgic photo on Instagram on Sunday in which she poses alongside Tana in a silk slip dress.
Captioning the post, she wrote: 'Happiest of birthdays to my mama, @tanaramsay. You are the most incredible mama, role model and friend.' She added: 'You inspire me every day, and I can only hope to be half the mother you are. I love you endlessly.'
Family crisis after championship disappointments
The tribute comes after Peaty's family crisis intensified following his recent appearances at the Commonwealth Games and European Aquatics Championships, where he placed fifth in the 100m breaststroke and fourth in the mixed medley relay. He also failed to qualify for the 50m breaststroke semi-final.
The swimmer, 31, has been estranged from parents Mark and Caroline for more than a year after his mother claimed she was snubbed from Holly's hen-do at Soho House in the Cotswolds. The feud cast a shadow over the couple's wedding and culminated in all immediate family members, except sister Bethany, being banned from the service at Bath Abbey on December 27.
Without his parents, who supported him throughout his career, Peaty has turned to his in-laws as he attempts to recover from his recent pool disappointments.
Pressure on triple Olympic champion
A source told The Sun: '...to have built himself back up again after the disappointment in Glasgow, only to crash out in Paris, is beyond brutal. The pressure on him as a triple Olympic champion and world-record holder is huge, and this year he also had the pressure of knowing what success in the pool would do for his profile outside of it.'
'To have fallen short on such a prominent stage has been crushing for him and he is taking some time out. There has been a complete blackout around him for the past week and he is being supported by the close-knit circle around him who will help him work out where he wants to go from here. There is also lot of thought going into how he and Holly now handle this publicly.'
Victoria Beckham joins birthday celebrations
Victoria Beckham also celebrated Tana's birthday by sharing a personal photo from Holly's Christmas wedding. The former Spice Girl has enjoyed a twenty-year friendship with Tana that began when husband David, then with Real Madrid and England captain, recruited Gordon Ramsay to manage catering for a pre-World Cup party at the Beckhams' former Hertfordshire home.
Victoria posted a photo taken at the reception after Holly exchanged vows with Peaty at 13th century Bath Abbey. A reception for 200 guests was held at Wiltshire's Kin House, with food from Gordon's team at the Savoy Grill and bridesmaid dresses designed by Victoria's fashion house.
In the photo, Victoria, 52, and Tana flank the bride, who wears an ivory satin dress from Ellie Saab. Victoria captioned it: 'Happy birthday @tanaramsay, we love you.'
