Holly Hagan, the 33-year-old television personality, has shared that she suffered a miscarriage earlier this year. The former Geordie Shore star, who has a two-year-old son Alpha-Jax with husband Jacob Blyth, opened up about the loss on Instagram after facing frequent questions about having another child.
In a candid post, Hagan addressed the pressure from followers, writing: 'Just because 90 percent of the questions are about when we're having another and I do get constant comments like 'AJ needs a sibling'... we did miscarry in March.' She urged fans to be mindful when asking about future pregnancies, noting that such comments can be hurtful.
Hagan also spoke about her struggle with postpartum anxiety after Alpha-Jax's birth in June 2023. She recalled fearing for her son's life, saying: 'I suffered quite badly with postpartum anxiety... I just kept thinking that at any point Alpha-Jax could potentially die.' She avoided visitors for weeks due to worries about infection.
Despite these challenges, Hagan expressed pride in her son's development and her own journey through motherhood. 'He survived all the visitors, and he even goes to nursery now. I'm proud of keeping him alive and that he's a happy, confident little boy,' she said.
The reality star, who married Blyth in 2022, described Alpha-Jax as having 'incredible energy' that brightens their days. She hopes her story encourages others to be sensitive when discussing family planning with those who may have experienced loss.
