Holly Hagan has hit back at fans who accused her of overshadowing her best friend Sophie Kasei at her baby shower. The Geordie Shore star, 33, wore cream to the gender reveal party, sparking criticism on social media.
Speaking on the MTV podcast Shall We?, Hagan insisted that Kasei had asked her to wear that colour. 'I've seen a few comments that I shouldn't have worn cream to your gender reveal because I was trying to overshadow you. People don't realise we have been best friends for 16 years,' she said.
Kasei, 36, who is expecting a baby boy with boyfriend Jordan Brook, confirmed the theme. 'I know! I was like "That is the theme!" I thought you looked absolutely beautiful as if I cared,' she replied.
The discussion comes after Kasei admitted to feeling 'miserable' days after the party due to gender disappointment. Hagan commented that 'gender disappointment is absolutely a thing', and Kasei added that 'people shouldn't be knocked down for that'.
Kasei has also been dealing with her partner Jordan's illness. Brook is suffering from meningitis and encephalitis, with swelling on the brain. He has been in hospital, and Kasei has been unable to visit due to risks to her pregnancy.
