Cooper Hoffman has confirmed he is dating his Poetic License co-star Nico Parker. The couple, both second-generation performers, met on the set of the 2024 film.
Second-Generation Stars
Hoffman, 23, is the son of the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, while Parker, 21, is the daughter of British actress Thandiwe Newton and director Ol Parker. They were pictured together at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
How It Started
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Hoffman said: "We didn’t officially start dating until a few weeks after filming, when she came to New York to meet my mom (costume designer Mimi O’Donnell), and I asked her to be my girlfriend. It was very sweet."
The film marks the directorial debut of Maude Apatow, daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann. Parker began her career with Dumbo (2019) and has since appeared in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy and How To Train Your Dragon. Hoffman made his debut in Licorice Pizza (2021) and starred in the 2025 adaptation of Stephen King's The Long Walk.
Remembering His Father
In a GQ interview, Hoffman said of his father: "He’s my favorite actor, but he’s also my dad." He added: "As much as I would love him to be here and talk to him about acting, I also would be terrified to have him see my stuff and judge my stuff. Not that he would judge it, because he was a very empathetic person, and he would probably — hopefully — hold my hand through all of it."
