Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has claimed a Travelodge employee threatened to call the police if she did not vacate her hotel room immediately after a late check-out. The actress, currently touring the UK in the Mother Goose Easter Panto, described the incident as 'horrible'.
Filming a video outside the Travelodge in Northampton, Flanagan explained she had overslept after a late night and missed the 12pm check-out time. She said a staff member began banging on her door at midday, and when she asked for a quick shower, the employee refused, saying she had to leave or the police would be called.
Flanagan, who has 1.1 million Instagram followers, said friend Matt Wright came to 'save her'. She added: 'All I wanted was a bit of respect not to be woken up in the morning... We have Starbucks now. Everything is solved by a Starbucks.'
The Mother Goose tour began on March 21 and runs until April 19. Flanagan is also appearing in Celebrity Ex on the Beach, which started on March 31.
A Travelodge spokesperson said: 'We are sorry to hear that Helen was disappointed with her stay. We have reached out to her directly and are speaking with the hotel team to understand what happened on this occasion.'
