Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has spoken candidly about experiencing 'mum guilt' after snapping at her daughter Matilda due to feeling burnt out. The 32-year-old actress, who has three children with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair, took to Instagram to thank her mother for giving her a break, admitting she had reached a point of exhaustion.
In an Instagram Stories post, Flanagan said: 'I don't actually stop, and I never actually get very tired like at all. I actually think I’ve naturally got a lot of energy; I definitely think I have ADHD. I’m quite hyper.' She added that she felt 'so burnt out' and became 'snappy with Matilda', but after some time to herself, she now feels 'fresh'.
The actress, who has been announced for I'm A Celebrity: All Stars, also recounted an incident on Sunday afternoon when her youngest child, two-year-old Charlie, 'pooped all over' her during a lunch outing. She said a woman gave her a 'disgusted look', which left her crying in a taxi on the way home.
Flanagan urged kindness towards mothers, stating: 'I think it’s just so important to be kind. I always try and be kind to people in all situations, and people should be kind to mums.' She regularly shares parenting struggles on social media, saying she connects with other mums by sharing both good and bad times.
