Harry Styles made a surprise reference to his ex Taylor Swift and her elaborate wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce during his latest performance at Madison Square Garden.
The Watermelon Sugar singer, 32, performed at the iconic venue in New York, where Taylor hosted her July nuptials to Travis. It didn't take long for Harry to address the elephant in the room.
Cheeky quip on stage
Speaking on stage at the third night of his record-breaking run, Harry addressed the crowd: "We're at Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks."
"And they also do weddings," he cheekily added.
Declined invitation
Harry was reportedly invited to the wedding to join Taylor's 1000 guests but politely declined. His fiancée Zoe Kravitz was in attendance having been long-term friends with Taylor and Travis.
Singers Harry and Taylor dated for a few months between 2012 and 2013 before things ended on a sour note. They broke up on what should have been a celebratory New Year's holiday in the British Virgin Islands.
However, following an almighty argument just days in, Taylor packed her bags and flew back to the United States alone. Undeterred, Harry stayed partying on the island before returning home as planned some time later.
Taylor got her revenge in a series of break up tracks detailing her emotional whiplash including Is It Over Now?, Style and Now That We Don't Talk.
While Harry didn't act on his invite to Taylor's extravagant wedding to Travis, many other famous faces did including Hugh Grant, Graham Norton and Tom Hanks.
Wedding details revealed
Fans outside the venue got to celebrate too with 'JUST&T MARRIED' signs being illuminated outside as soon as they said their vows.
While everything inside had been top secret, AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron shared a detailed, play-by-play account of what went down before swiftly deleting his insightful posts that breached the couple's strict security rules.
"It was such a privilege to be THERE," began Aron's lengthy post on X, that was screenshotted by multiple users before it was deleted from his account. "Having been in Taylor Swift's orbit since AMC first took her Eras Tour movie to theaters globally in 2023, and with AMC's headquarters ironically located in Kansas City home to the Chiefs, I saw early on that true romance was at hand."
He described how MSG was totally transformed from sports venue to romantic wedding set-up. "Immediately upon entry, everything… floors, walls, ceilings… was draped in peach and white. Large blown up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year from one year-old to late teenager-hood, were on display," the executive said.
He added: "A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space. Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat. Everything draped off this time in green and white. Real flowers and I think artificial trees welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs. They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small. Everything was close."
He continued: "A few violins and cello ushered in the wedding party. Headlined by handsome Travis in a white tux, and a jaw-dropping Taylor in a stunning white wedding dress with a long veiled train."
Taylor's UK guests have also been loose lipped about experiencing the showbiz wedding of the year. Radio 1's Greg James said it was 'unbelievably fun' but surreal to be in a room 'full of the most famous people in the world.'
