Harry Redknapp Celebrates 58 Years of Marriage to Sandra

Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra have celebrated 58 years of marriage, just days after the former football manager shared a stunning photograph from their wedding day. The couple, who are childhood sweethearts, first met at a local pub when both were 17 years old. They married in 1967 at Barking Abbey church in East London, with the late Frank Lampard Snr serving as best man.

Harry Redknapp's Career and Family

Harry Redknapp began his football career in 1965, playing for teams including West Ham United and Bournemouth before retiring in the early 1980s. He later managed clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Southampton, and Portsmouth, where he led the team to an unexpected FA Cup victory in 2008. Harry and Sandra have two sons, including former England footballer Jamie Redknapp, who now works as a pundit on Sky Sports. Harry is also an uncle to Coventry City manager Frank Lampard, who also played for England.

Sandra's Health Scare

In 2018, Sandra was rushed to hospital for treatment of sepsis. Harry said: "In 2018, my wife Sandra developed sepsis from a kidney infection. It was a terrifying experience – but we were lucky. She survived; 48,000 families across the UK aren’t as fortunate. That’s why I’ve teamed up with the UK Sepsis Trust to get lifesaving information in front of as many people as possible."

Anniversary Tribute on Instagram

Taking to Instagram, Harry paid tribute to his wife as they celebrated 58 years together. Sharing a photo of them enjoying a glass of wine in the evening sun, he wrote: "A wonderful evening with Sandra celebrating 58 years married." The post came after Harry shared an old picture from their wedding day, where he gushed: "What a result I’ve had… 58 fantastic years married today to my lovely wife Sandra 62 years together in total with four years courting before we got married. Where has that time gone?"

Harry's Appearance on I'm a Celebrity South Africa

Earlier this year, Harry appeared on ITV's I'm a Celebrity South Africa, hoping to retain his jungle King crown. During the series, campmates received emotional messages from home. Sandra told Harry: "Keep making us proud, and love you always and forever," which caused a teary response from Harry. The series was met with drama, particularly at the live final where Harry finished in third place. During the final, Jimmy claimed Adam dropped "c-bombs" that were not aired. Adam responded by taking "full responsibility" and apologizing, saying he has "nothing but love for Jimmy." David Haye interrupted the exchange, saying: "You’ve got a funny way of showing it." Dec then reminded David he "wasn't there" when the row unfolded. Although Adam went on to win the series, he looked downcast as he received the title of ultimate legend.
