Harry Potter star Jessie Cave earns more on OnlyFans than acting

Jessie Cave, known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, has revealed that her earnings from OnlyFans have surpassed what she made during her entire acting career. The 39-year-old actress, who now creates niche content centered around her long hair on the platform, spoke candidly about her financial struggles and the unexpected success of her venture.

From Hogwarts to OnlyFans

Cave rose to fame in 2009 when she was cast in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film in the blockbuster franchise. She reprised her role in the final two installments and later appeared in TV series such as Trollied, Black Mirror, and Miss Scarlet and The Duke.

Despite acting alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson—who all became multi-millionaires—Cave found herself increasingly worried as work dried up in recent years. Engaged to comedian Alfie Brown and a mother of four, she faced financial pressure and was reluctant to take a job in a supermarket for fear of being recognized.

'Complete Desperation' Led to OnlyFans

Cave told The Times that she turned to the adults-only platform out of "complete desperation." She explained: "I had a breakdown and I thought, that's it with acting, I give up. But also we have no money. I thought I'd make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we're going to do. But it's now been over a year and a half and it's genuinely saved our lives."

Charging subscribers $6 a month, Cave initially earned $15,000 in a single day. She quickly amassed 3,500 subscribers with her non-sexual content aimed at those with a hair fetish, her first viral post featuring her waist-length locks in a polka-dot top.

A Lucrative Niche

Cave, who sometimes poses as her Harry Potter character, has ruled out going completely nude on her page but acknowledged that she "can't afford to stop" creating lucrative posts. Her success on the platform has been a financial lifeline, exceeding her earnings from years of acting.

Personal Milestones

Earlier this year, Cave, who is performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, got engaged to Alfie Brown, months after a brief split. She announced the news on social media, writing: "12 years and 4 kids later …. It's getting serious!!!"

The couple first met in 2012 while performing stand-up at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They began dating in 2014 after a mutual friend set them up, and their first child, Donnie, was born in October 2014. They have since had three more children, with their youngest arriving in March 2022.
