Gwyneth Paltrow joins TikTok with hilarious bed debut

The Oscar-winning actress, 53, announced her arrival on TikTok with a playful montage recorded in a series of upscale settings. The clips feature Paltrow on a helicopter, aboard a boat, in a garden, and on a private jet.

In two scenes she is topless, first stretched out on a bed with white sheets, wearing nothing but gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses and matching gold earrings, and later soaking in a bathtub with her hair pushed back and black-framed aviator shades. In each segment, she repeats the line "One second, I'm just doing a TikTok" in different languages.

Instagram Tease

Paltrow also promoted her new account on Instagram Stories, sharing the clip with the caption: "Apparently I'm on TikTok now."

Return to Acting

Away from social media, Paltrow continues to run her wellness and lifestyle brand, Goop. She made her return to acting last year in the table tennis drama Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie and released on Christmas Day 2025.

The film generated buzz in 2024 after paparazzi photos of Paltrow kissing co-star Timothée Chalamet circulated online. Speaking on Good Morning America, Paltrow explained her character: "I play a retired movie star in the film, who Timothee is sort of... tries to... I think he tries to get her sheen to rub off on him in more ways than one." She joked about the reaction from friends: "You should have seen my mommy group chats when the paparazzi pictures came out of us kissing in the park. All the moms were pretty stoked."

Recent Criticism Over Israel Ad

The TikTok launch comes just weeks after she faced criticism for appearing in an advert for a luxury housing development in Israel, amid the ongoing war in Gaza. The ad showed her waking up in a high-rise apartment and praising the benefits of living near green space. "There's a reason the world's most iconic buildings are by a park," she says, before asking her driver to take her to "51 Park" – a luxury residential development in Herzliya.

Family Life

Paltrow shares daughter Apple, 22, and son Moses, 20, with ex-husband Chris Martin. She has been married to television producer Brad Falchuk since 2018.
