Gregg Wallace Sells Family Home, Moves to Italy After MasterChef Sacking
Gregg Wallace Sells Home, Moves to Italy Post-MasterChef

Former MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace has revealed a major life transformation, confirming he is selling his family home and preparing to relocate to Italy for extensive annual travels. This announcement comes in the wake of his high-profile dismissal from the long-running BBC cooking competition.

A New Chapter of Adventure

The 61-year-old broadcaster shared his intentions in a video posted to his 235,000 Instagram followers on Monday. Appearing in what seemed to be his back garden in Kent, Wallace stated: "Big changes this year. Selling this, our family home, moving to a new area, trying to organise a life of adventure, travelling around Italy for five months of the year." He emphasised that he is actively working to create this adventurous new lifestyle as he embarks on a fresh chapter.

Family Focus and Business Ventures

Wallace also disclosed his desire to home school his six-year-old son Sid, whom he publicly revealed was diagnosed with autism in 2022. He explained: “I want to take on that responsibility and, at the same time, trying to build a business with Ruth and Sarah – autism experts for helping families with autistic children. There is a lot going on.”

The broadcaster lives with his wife Anne-Marie Sterpini, whom he married in 2016, and their young child. In a separate social media post, he was seen inside his family home pondering the move, saying: “Big conversations going on now. What would you take? What would you leave behind? Don’t say you’d leave behind all of it.”

The MasterChef Controversy

The TV chef was the familiar face of the hit BBC cooking competition MasterChef alongside John Torode for almost two decades. However, it was announced in November 2024 that he would step away from his role while misconduct allegations were thoroughly investigated.

He was ultimately sacked in July 2025 after a comprehensive review upheld 45 of the 83 allegations against him. These incidents mostly occurred between 2005 and 2018 and included one specific allegation of “unwelcome physical contact.” Wallace, who also co-presented the spin-off Celebrity MasterChef, issued a formal apology stating he was “deeply sorry for any distress caused” and that he “never set out to harm or humiliate.”

Legal Proceedings and Aftermath

Following his dismissal, Wallace later sued the BBC and BBC Studios Distribution Limited for up to £10,000 in damages. He alleged they failed to disclose his personal data properly, which caused him significant “distress and harassment.” However, he discontinued this High Court case earlier in 2026, bringing legal proceedings to a close.

Now, Wallace appears focused on his family's future, his new business venture supporting autistic children and their families, and his planned Italian adventures. This represents a complete lifestyle shift for the former television personality as he moves beyond the MasterChef controversy.
