Gaza and Nepal
In the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood of war-torn Gaza City, Palestinians, mostly children, watched a film screening organised by the Little Wings mobile cinema initiative. The initiative aims to help children experience the magic of cinema and some normalcy amid the widespread destruction.
In Nepal’s Chitwan district, mourners comforted each other outside a morgue following catastrophic flash floods in the Nepal-Tibet border region.

In Ayutthaya, Thailand, devotees at a Buddhist shrine posed with faces covered in gold leaf during a Na Na Thong gold leaf face-blessing ritual, which is believed to enhance wealth and fortune.
In Pampanga, the hardest-hit province in the Philippines, a dog kept out of the flood water after torrential rain brought by the south-west monsoon. In Santo Domingo Xenacoj, Guatemala, Catholics took part in a procession to pray for rain amid a prolonged drought.

In Oslo, Norway, a woman stood in front of a makeshift memorial outside the Royal Palace for King Harald V of Norway, who died last week. In Kunming, China, pupils showcased handmade hats on the first day of the new autumn semester at a primary school in Yunnan province.
In Mexico City, a young woman gestured at a remote-controlled robot during an “aura farming” competition, in which people do things to look cool or stylish. In Panama City, a traditional dance took place during the Casco Peatonal celebrations in the Casco Viejo historic district, which transforms into a pedestrian zone every last Sunday of the month.

In London, a float marking 60 years of the Notting Hill carnival joined the parade, and costumed drummers performed as part of the adults’ parade during Europe’s largest street festival. In Buenos Aires, the La Camerata Argentina chamber orchestra performed at the Teatro Colón as part of a tango festival at the historic opera house.
In Putrajaya, Malaysia, dancers performed in a parade to mark the 69th anniversary of the country’s independence from Britain.
