Television star and internet personality GK Barry has shared her unusual hangover recovery tricks, including plunging her head into ice-cold water and listening to a peculiar playlist, after a night out in Ibiza ended with her being rescued from a fountain.
Hangover Recovery Regime
Barry revealed that her recovery routine begins with positive self-talk, declaring to herself that 'she's fine'. She then applies eye patches, takes paracetamol and ibuprofen, and feels 'ready to attack the day'. She added: 'When I used to live in Nottingham, I'd have to get the train from Nottingham to London for work after a big night out. I'd have to listen to music on YouTube with frequencies that are supposed to help a sore head and hope it would help. And to be fair, on some of my darkest days, it did do something.'
Ibiza Fountain Incident
Recalling a memorable night out, Barry detailed how an Ibiza outing ended with the Baggs brothers and Max Balegde hauling her from a fountain. She explained: 'I was in Ibiza and we went to this restaurant with lots of meats, cheeses and wine. Let's just say I went a bit too heavy on the wine and too light on the meat. I ended up jumping into a fountain and nearly drowning. Thankfully I was rescued by my friends – including the Baggs brothers and Max Balegde. Then they had to carry me home – and to make things worse I dropped my phone in there. The next day I woke up looking like The Grudge. At least I was wearing a lovely pair of Hawaiian pyjamas, so every cloud has a silver lining.'
World Cup Survival Tips
Barry has been enjoying this summer's World Cup tournament but acknowledges the struggle of late-night matches. She teamed up with Tropicana Hydrate+ to hand out refreshments across London for exhausted football fans. She advised: 'Make sure you sleep. I've never understood it when people are like, 'We're going to have to ride it out.' I have never been a 'ride it out' person. You need to go to bed, and you need to lie to yourself the next day you went to bed at 9pm. Make sure you chuck away your Oura Ring as well, which will tell you you're going to suffer.'
England's Chances
Asked about England's prospects in the tournament, Barry said: 'God bless Harry Kane. A girl can dream!'
