Cristiano Ronaldo has marked his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez's 28th birthday with an extravagant laser show featuring her face on Dubai's Burj Khalifa tower. The Manchester United star shared a video of the spectacle on Instagram, which included clips from her new Netflix series 'I Am Georgina' and ended with the message 'Happy Birthday Geo'.
The light display, which lit up the world's tallest building, is estimated to cost at least £50,000 for a three-minute slot, a sum easily afforded by Ronaldo, who earns £500,000 a week and has a net worth exceeding £370 million. The couple are currently in Dubai during the Premier League's winter break.
In the Netflix documentary, Georgina, who met Ronaldo in 2016 while working at a Gucci store in Madrid, reveals how her life has transformed from taking public transport to being chauffeured in his fleet of sports cars. She also admitted that travelling on his private jet has made her reluctant to fly commercial, saying she would 'go insane' if she had to spend two hours at an airport with the footballer.
Ronaldo features in the series and says he quickly realised 'Georgina was the woman of my life', adding that he never thought their relationship would become so strong. The couple have been together since 2016 and have two children together.
