Georgina Rodriguez is reportedly preparing to marry Cristiano Ronaldo this weekend in a lavish ceremony in Portugal, after a decade together. The couple's wedding plans have been the subject of intense speculation following a leaked invitation and matching ring photos.
Wedding Rumors Intensify
Reports suggest the couple will tie the knot on Saturday at the Funchal Cathedral in Madeira, followed by a reception at the five-star Savoy Hotel. The alleged guest list includes Rio Ferdinand, Vinícius Jr., Rihanna, Drake, and Jennifer Lopez, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
Last week, an invitation purportedly for the wedding was leaked to Portuguese programme 'V+Fama', reading: "Together with their families, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez request the honour of your presence at the celebration of their marriage." However, a family statement denied the wedding plans at the time.
From Humble Beginnings
Georgina Rodriguez Hernandez was born on January 27, 1994, in Buenos Aires to an Argentine father and Spanish mother. She moved to Spain as a baby and trained in ballet before giving up her dream due to financial constraints.
Before meeting Ronaldo, she worked as a nanny and waitress, then as a sales assistant at Gucci in Madrid, earning around £10 an hour. In her Netflix documentary 'Soy Georgina', she reflected: "I know what it's like to have nothing and what it's like to have everything."
A Fairy-Tale Romance
Georgina met Ronaldo in 2016 when he visited the Gucci store where she worked. She described the attraction as "instant", feeling "butterflies" and being too shy to make eye contact. Ronaldo would pick her up from work in his Bugatti, while she arrived by bus.
The couple made their first public appearance in January 2017 at The Best FIFA Football Awards. They now share five children, including twins Mateo and Eva, daughter Alana Martina, and Bella Esmeralda, after a baby boy tragically died during childbirth in 2022.
