Fans of Netflix's The Night Agent have been left stunned after discovering that actress Genesis Rodriguez, who stars in the third season, is the daughter of a legendary Venezuelan singer and actor.
Rodriguez, 38, plays financial journalist Isabel De Leon in the high-octane series, which follows agent Peter Sutherland on a dangerous mission. The American actress began her career on Telemundo and is known for roles in Entourage, Time After Time, Lioness, and The Umbrella Academy.
Born in Miami in 1987 to a Cuban model mother, Rodriguez's father is José Luis Rodríguez, an 83-year-old Venezuelan singer nicknamed 'El Puma'. He has recorded international hits and served as a coach on various versions of The Voice and as a judge on The X Factor Chile.
Despite his fame, Rodríguez had a humble upbringing, shining shoes and packing supermarket bags. He rose to stardom in the late 1960s, later gaining his nickname in Puerto Rico while starring in the telenovela Cristina Bazán. His biggest hits include Dueño de nada, Pavo real, and Agárrense de las manos.
Genesis Rodriguez also has two half-sisters, actresses Lilibeth and Liliana Rodríguez, from her father's previous marriage to Lila Morillo.
