Gemma Collins has showcased her impressive three-stone weight loss in a stunning silk gown at the Crème de la Crème ball in Los Angeles. The 34-year-old TOWIE star wore the £695 After Dark gown, featuring a silver embellished bust and sleeve, exuding confidence at the LA-themed event.
Collins, who has struggled with yo-yo dieting, revealed she was 19 stone when she entered the I'm A Celebrity jungle last November. She has now shed almost three stone in 28 days on a liquid-only diet at Jason Vale's Juicy Oasis retreat in Portugal, where she consumed only freshly pressed juices under the supervision of a dietitian.
Jason Vale, the juice master, said: 'She lost two-and-a-half to three stone in total in four weeks. She has been doing exercise as well but not military-style. None of it is forced. Nobody can force Gemma to do anything, frankly.' He added that Collins has changed her mindset, realising that 'crisps are the cause of the problem'.
Collins has previously spoken about her insulin problem, which makes weight loss more difficult. In 2013, she said: 'My body produces more insulin than other people. It's like diabetes, but it's not. I should be on metformin three times a day but it makes me feel really ill. It would control my weight.'
Before the retreat, Collins had been hypnotised into believing she had a gastric band fitted, which helped her drop from size 22 to 18 in three months. She expressed hope of reaching size 14 after the juice retreat, saying: 'I got down to 16 before but this will be the smallest I've ever been.'
