Four in a Bed Star Fumes 'It's a You Problem' in Heated Payment Day Clash
Four in a Bed Star Rages in Payment Day Clash

A Four in a Bed star raged, 'it made my blood boil' as tensions flared on Payment Day during a Wales-themed episode. The series revisited a Wales-themed collection on Saturday, with Powys off-grid B&B owners Anjana and David left furious after receiving three underpayments.

Off-Grid Property Sparks Criticism

During repeat episodes broadcast on Saturday, the series journeyed across Wales, but an unusual off-grid property in Powys left several of the B&B owners distinctly unimpressed. Without wifi, minimal amenities, and outdoor loos, on payment day, hosts Anjana and David were confronted with lower scores than anticipated and were forced to justify their offering.

Pembrokeshire proprietors Steve and daughter Elise had awarded the couple a disappointing six for facilities, pointing to the absence of modern conveniences as a concern.

'We never promised electricity,' Anjana fired back. David added, 'We specifically don't promise electricity; it's very much somewhere people go for a digital detox,' reports Wales Online.

Heated Exchange Over Amenities

Steve was left saying, 'When I go places, I like to think I live in the 21st century. Most places have electricity and wifi, for me it's a must.'

Anjana replied: 'You sound really angry that we're producing something without electricity.'

Steve then said, 'I get you're a niche market, but I kind of feel like you're attacking me.'

Anjana slammed: 'I feel like you're attacking me for not having electricity.'

They moved past the criticism, though Steve confessed to the camera that the discussion about electricity 'made my blood boil'.

Further Disagreements on Facilities

Things continued to spiral downward for Anjana and David when they discovered that the Barmouth B&B owners, Tanya and Gary, had scored them a 5 for facilities.

After reading their feedback, Anjana put Tanya on the spot, asking: 'Have you ever been camping? And what equipment have you got at home for that?'

As Tanya said she doesn't have equipment at home but has been camping in the past, Anjana fumed: 'So you don't go camping, so you actually don't know what you're talking about? It's really a you problem rather than a site problem.'

She continued: 'You mentioned the toilet was a four-minute walk as if that is a negative. If you had it closer than that, if you knew anything about camping, you would know you're right next to a watercourse, so you've got to be at least 30 minutes away. I just feel that those comments show a real lack of engagement with the surroundings.'

As Tanya said she stood by their comments, Tenby glampsite owners Carys and Rhys also shared their concerns about the lack of nearby toilets, leaving Carys using the grounds in the middle of the night rather than walking to the toilets in the dark.

Rhys then said, 'It just reminded me of going glamping ten years ago.'

'I think you're so wrong about that,' Anjana hit back. 'Do you know that we had David Hasselhoff come?'

Carys replied, 'I don't think it matters if you had Cheryl Cole,' as Rhys said, 'David Hasselhoff isn't judging.'

Anjana added: 'I feel that you've all missed the point.'

Payment Day Outcome

After hearing all the feedback, Anjana and David opened their envelopes and discovered they had received three underpayments, totalling £90. Unsurprisingly, they came in fourth place, with David concluding: 'We're so different as an offering from the other ones that I think it was either going to work out spectacularly well or spectacularly badly.'

Four in a Bed is available to watch on Channel 4.
