Royal fans were delighted to see the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, attend Wimbledon with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte on Sunday. However, many expressed disappointment over the absence of the youngest sibling, Prince Louis.
Prince Louis Misses Wimbledon Again
At just eight years old, Prince Louis has become a fan favorite for his cheeky expressions and lively demeanor. Despite his popularity, he was not present at the All England Club for the tennis action, marking another year without his Wimbledon debut. His mother, Princess Kate, revealed during the 2023 men's singles final that Louis was "very upset" about missing out. However, he did enjoy a secret outing with Kate and Charlotte at the Royal Ballet School on Friday evening.
According to reports, William and Kate decided not to bring Louis this year, believing the strict rules of Wimbledon might be too challenging for him at his age. Prince George and Princess Charlotte, aged 12 and 11 respectively, attended alongside their parents in the Royal Box. This was Kate's second consecutive day at the Championships, as she had presented the Women's Singles Trophy on Saturday.
Fan Reactions on Social Media
Fans took to social media to share their disappointment. One Reddit user wrote: "Awwwe come on, let him attend!" Another joked: "Younger siblings everywhere feel his pain!" On Twitter, a user quipped: "Where's Louis, the prince who doesn't hide his boredom?" Another added: "Lovely seeing the family but I can't help but wish little Louis was there." A third commented: "So sad Prince Louis did not make his debut at Wimbledon this year. Prince George and Princess Charlotte were just 8 years old making their debut. Prince William was 9 years old at his debut. Maybe next year for Prince Louis?"
Louis' Eagerness to Attend
Despite his absence, Prince Louis has expressed interest in attending Wimbledon. Princess Kate previously mentioned that he was eager to join the family at the tournament. However, the couple reportedly feels that the formal atmosphere and long hours may not suit the young prince just yet. Royal fans remain hopeful that Louis will make his Wimbledon debut in the near future, following in the footsteps of his older siblings and father.
